Rosedale, November, North York Moors, England

Rosedale

The valley of Rosedale is fertile ground for fog and mist formation. On cool nights air blown north from the Yorkshire Plain is forced up by rising ground. Cooling as it climbs, mist and then fog begin to form. When winds are light or non-existent this can rapidly become very thick, sometimes resisting being burnt off by the sun all day.
