House Spider
(Tegenaria domestica)

Frequent feeding is not necessary for these spiders - females can exist for several months in houses without either food or drink. Prey is caught in a densely spun web that is typically 10cm across.

It is strange but apparently true that during a lifetime the average person will swallow sixteen spiders while they are sleeping!
