Meadow Fritillary
(Melitea parthenoides)

Meadow fritillaries are delightful butterflies that favour wide-open flowery meadows, and can be found within their range anywhere between lowland areas up to lower mountain slopes. In flight they give the appearance of floating delicately low over the vegetation, in this respect meadow fritillaries are a classic butterfly.
