Black-veined White
(Aporia crataegi)
The best views of black-veined whites are enjoyed while they drink at the edges of drying puddles. Dozens, sometimes even hundreds, of butterflies gather at these spots. They will mostly be males, desperate for dissolved salts that are essential for creation of their sperm packets. Otherwise they can be found in a wide variety of flowery habitats from meadows and roadside verges to scrub orchards and gardens.
