The Diary: This compendium of notes have been gleaned over a period of time and from a variety of sources, e.g. magazines, books, films, conversations with site wardens, conservation professionals and other photographers, as well as my own personal observations. I have been noting it all down in an old diary so that I can look at the months ahead and plan what I want to do. As each year goes by a little more information is added. This is understandably a very personal list as I have noted subjects that have been of interest to me. I make no apologies for this, or for the north of England bias (hey, that's where I live).
The Locations: Where grid references are given they are based on the Ordnance Survey Landranger Grid. You can use these references at streetmap.co.uk to view a map showing the exact location.
The Disclaimer: Nature follows a rhythm, but doesn't mark the days off a calendar in quite the same way that we do. As such timing is inherently unpredictable and I cannot be held responsible if things don't happen as written. I suggest you do your own checking before embarking on a photographic project, especially if you intend to travel.
