Wildlife and Nature Photography: Poppy
POPpy

Mention poppies and folk automatically picture an army of red flowers, swaying gently in a summer breeze. Trust me to be awkward; this is a Welsh poppy and it is spring time. These flowers display much earlier than the common red variety, at least they do where I live, and in much smaller numbers. This bud has just burst open and very quickly a dazzlingly bright yellow bloom will be proudly presented for all to admire.
